Kentucky Cat's Paw One Gallon Stoneware Pitcher
Circa 1890-1910: This handsome one gallon cat's paw pitcher was made in Kentucky around the turn of the 20th century. Tan stoneware with this type of decoration is often mistaken for New Geneva, Pennsylvania tanware, but recent research has shown that these pieces were indeed made in Kentucky. This pitcher has one nick on the rim but is otherwise perfect condition. Stoneware with cat's paw decoration is becoming increasingly popular at country antiques and primitives shows in the Midwest as research on this interesting type of stoneware continues to come to light.
