Diminutive 7" Decorated Pennsylvania Tanware PitcherCirca 1880-1900: This handsome New Geneva, Pennsylvania, tanware pitcher stands just a hair over 7" in height and has a capacity of a little under one half gallon. The pitcher is unusual in that its rim is wonderfully decorated with a simple Lincoln drape and the color of the clay has a reddish tint. Doubtless, this is a late piece of tanware made in the first decade of the 20th century as the great age of Pennsylvania stoneware gave way to the modern world.
