This handsome selection of Zimmerman’s woodenware shows that Archie also made strictly utilitarian objects. When we visited Wanda Duncan, Zimmerman’s granddaughter, we were delighted to discover that she owns three pieces of her grandfather’s woodenware – a fork, a spoon, and a knitting needle. Wanda’s son Tom Duncan asserts that Archie taught him to carve wooden spoons, which led to Duncan’s lifelong love of carving.
