Creedmoor Bank

J & E Stevens Co., Cromwell, CT

Circa 1877: Manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Co., the Creedmoor bank was produced in half a dozen variations. This original version is the first and earliest version, designed in Philadelphia by James H. Bowen and cast in Cromwell, Connecticut. The fun bank operates by placing a coin on the barrel of the gun. By pressing the right foot, the coin is fired into the target on the tree. An exuberant marksman can add a paper cap to fire at the same time. This particular example retains a good amount of its original paint and has no chips, cracks, repairs, or touch ups. Please note it is missing the coin trap.
