Huge 25" Early Poplar Bowl in Dry Untouched Original Surface

This monumental early American turned poplar bowl is a whopping 25" in diameter and is excellent condition with a dry untouched original surface and no cracks! Usually, old bowls are cracked to high heaven, but this one is clean. The bowl is slightly out of round, which is as it should be for a piece of early 19th century woodenware. Whoever turned this bowl made a wise decision in using tulip poplar, a wood of light weight. Had the maker chosen to use walnut, for instance, a bowl of this size would have been too heavy to carry with any ease. We love the dark patina of this fine old bowl, and we are sure that the person who chooses to purchase this piece will be absolutely elated with it.
