Antique American Ovoid Redware Storage Jar

Possibly Attributed to Galena, Illinois: This early 8 1/2" tall redware storage jar features a spectacular glaze with green undertones that is typically attributed to the 19th century Galena, Illinois, potters. It is obvious this jar was created by a master potter because it takes an enormous amount of skill to turn a such a thin-walled piece of dense redware successfully.
