Primitive Antique Buttocks Basket

Circa 1880s

This American antique buttocks basket from the mid to late 19th century has great form and wonderful patina. Oak Splint construction in good condition, please note a couple minor breaks, but the color is spectacular, really what you're looking for in a nice old basket like this. Small handmade nails, showing perfect age and rich old patina in the wooden oak handle that wraps under the bottom for stability.
Measures 12" long and 9" tall.
